Nassau and the last 3 days

On Tue Dec 8 we docked in Nassau, Bahamas.  We were hoping to maybe find a beach or do some sightseeing.  No such luck - rained harder than the days before.  However, we knew it was the last day to get off the ship till Friday so we put our ponchos on and walked into the market.  It was yucky and miserable.  We walked around but didn't even go in any shops.  After an hour we got back on the dry ship.  We watched Ant Man in the theater after we checked the boys in the kids club.
Later that night was the ever popular Pirate Night!!  They gave us bandanas to put on for dinner and we brought Noah's costume.  The boys had a fun night!

The next 2 days were at sea so we woke up leisurely and spent the day exploring the ship and the boys had fun in the pool.  They had a dance party with Disney Jr in one of the rooms and then later took pictures with Chip and Dale and Goofy.  Steve taught the boys to play shuffleboard on one of the decks.

On Thursday our last full day on the ship we had to wake up early for the Character Meet and Greet breakfast with Disney Jr.  Joshua and Noah got to take pics with Mickey, Sophia, and Jake.
They loved it and we also had them sign a pillowcase.  The rest of the day we just went to different activities and the boys spent time in the pool and then by the ping pong tables.  We also were able to do an adult dinner while we checked the kids into the club.  It was nice but rushed because we were trying to make the show at 8:30.  So glad we did cause the nightly show was a medley of the Disney classics.  How sad that our trip went by so fast but what an amazing time.

Castaway Cay

The next day we docked at Castaway Cay - Disney's private island.  When we woke up it was raining on the island and not many people were getting off the ship but around 10:00 we decided to head out.  It was still pretty wet and cloudy but the island is beautiful; they decorated for Christmas and it was very scenic.  It was nice to be on the beach and not even need sunscreen.  The sun came out around noon and the rest of the afternoon was nice until about 3:30 and it started sprinkling again.  We had a nice BBQ lunch at the picnic benches; Disney did a great job with food, especially having lots of fruit available.  The boys just loved playing in the sand and even getting in the water to see the different fish in the ocean.  Too bad we couldn't just spend days on that beach.
