The Saturday after school started Noah and I went to Alamo to watch a cartoon show called Peg + Cat. Noah had so much fun eating his popcorn and watching the show. Joshua and Steve went for a golf lesson that morning since Joshua is slowly trying to improve his game.
That afternoon our neighborhood had a tailgate party. The boys had fun playing with Emmy, Leela, and Arya. We got a lot of pictures with Noah and Emmy. There was even a tug of war for Noah. He loved every moment!
Joshua started piano this week. At the time we were in the process of getting a full size keyboard. He is picking up much faster than I did at his age. It seems strange that he started piano the same age as I did.
On Labor Day weekend we went to see the John family in Houston. We had a great time at the Children's Museum with the kids. One of the best children's museums we've been to. We could have spent most of the day in there. We went to Halal Guys afterwards for lunch and Amy's for dessert.
The next day we were able to visit Anagha and Bharath on our way back to Austin. We had to wait till the rain stopped before we left again.
The next day we went over to Mom and Dad's to celebrate Steve's 41st birthday. Steve, Dad, and Joshua left early in the morning to play golf. Mom made a good lunch and we had ice cream cake.
Steve had a good birthday celebrating with family.
On Friday, some of the girls and I went to Esther's Follies for a late birthday celebration. I've always wanted to do Esther's and never got around to it. It was so funny and I can't believe it took me this long to go. We went next door to Carmelo's to have dinner afterwards. I laughed so hard that night.
The next day we had Arya's 5th birthday party and Sunday we had Dhilan's 4th birthday party. They had so much fun spending time with their friends.
The next weekend Steve and I went to the Pratham Gala. It was a nice charity event to raise funds for literacy in India by building schools and giving children access to education.
The next day my old co-workers and I celebrated Shanyn's birthday at IFly. I realized how old I was doing that since I felt I couldn't get my posture straight as I was "flying." Regardless, it was fun doing something different and exhilirating.

August 2016
The first week of August Steve and I went to Las Vegas to celebrate our friend Subash's 40th birthday. It was such a quick trip - we arrived Fri afternoon and left Sun early morning. We had a great time and I was even able to log in 5 hours at the spa on Sat.
Since the boys didn't have to wake up too early during the summer they would stay up to watch Olympics for 2 weeks especially the gymnastics and track. They especially loved watching the US track team and gymnastics team. They also would get excited watching Usain Bolt.
On Sunday August 14 we went to the Inner Space Caverns with the Mutyalas. I was so impressed with how the kids listened along the tour and how they really enjoyed exploring and learning all about the formation and discovery of the caverns.
The weekend before school started I took Noah to his friend's birthday party while Joshua and Steve went to Lunar Golf at the mall. We took it easy that weekend and just did fun things. For my birthday dinner I wanted to go to Pappadeux and have some good seafood. Noah fell asleep on the way there so he was asleep thru half of dinner. The best part of the evening was the Bananas Foster Cheesecake!
The next day we went to a pool party and the kids had fun playing with their friends until Noah fell and scratched his nose. After 10 min. of crying he went back into the pool!
Since school didn't start till Tuesday I took Monday off and had fun with the kids. I let them choose what they wanted to do and they chose Chuck E Cheese! Funny how they still LOVE that place! We spent most of the morning there and they were pretty patient taking turns with all the games.
We relaxed for the rest of the day and the boys played basketball in the evening.
On the 1st day of school, Mom picked up Noah early and we left for school with Joshua to walk him into the class and take pics. Love that special day when we can see him in his classroom and him starting a whole new school year. He is always so thrilled to be back in school and he takes it in stride. Totally the opposite of how I remember going to school.
We let him ride the school bus the next morning because we promised him in 1st grade he could. It was quite a rush getting him ready and out the door for our walk to the bus stop. So nice that we don't have to contend with school traffic anymore. The 2nd day of school was my birthday - I had a good day knowing how blessed my life is with all that God has provided. I enjoyed just the simple things today - picking Joshua up from school and Noah from Mom and Dad's, making dinner and playing outside with them.
They love the Olympics
Noah at a birthday party at Safari Champ
My birthday dinner at Pappadeux
End of summer pool party
Chuck E Cheese the day before school started
Bus ride
I wonder where I'm going?

July 2016
The first weekend in July we took a trip to the JW Marriott in San Antonio with the Jacob family. By far that resort is the best we've stayed at in Texas. It is such a beautiful, spacious property that has an amazing pool area for kids and the best service. The food was also pretty good and we had fun just relaxing by the pool and doing smores and other activities in the evening.
On July 4th Liesel, Seth, Caleb, and Joshua came to see us after 8 years. The last time I saw them was when Caleb was 9 months old and now he's 9 years old! It was so nice to catch up with my best friend since 9th grade!
On July 16 we celebrated Christian's 3rd birthday in Dallas at a bounce house. The boys were so excited to celebrate with him. We went back to Sunil and Julie's house to have cake and open presents. The cake looked amazing and the boys loved watching Christian open his presents.
That evening we went to Lajipappan's house to celebrate Soju's graduation. It was great to see our family and Joshua and Noah were able to finally meet Nimmi, Abin's wife.
The following weekend Joshua had his Top Golf tournament and he placed 4th in his age division. He loved playing and was happy to get quality time with Steve and Grandpa.
That afternoon we went to Bethany and Austin's birthday party and the boys had so much fun at Catch Air!
The next week Joshua went with Steve to work for Bring your Kids to Work Day. They had so many activities for the kids and he loved every minute of it. They did a robotics presentation, virtual reality with Pokemon, and a fishing activity.
