My two sweet boys
It's been almost a month since I've written on this blog. I'm amazed at how fast time is flying by. Every day I think of how this time in our lives has to be the best time and how I really try to thoroughly enjoy every second of every day. I feel so blessed to have a 2 year old that is so fun to be around -athletic, musically inclined, funny, mischievious, loving, and affectionate. And at the same time we also have an almost 6 month old that is happy, sweet, and an absolute joy to be around.
Noah rolled over for the first time on June 8 (one week before he turned 5 months) Since then, he's been rolling from one end of the room to the other. He loves to pat my face while he drinks milk and he's always grabbing my nose or trying to pinch me by grasping with his little hand. He definitely grabs at toys or teethers much more than Joshua did at his age. He loves to "talk" by saying "Ohhhhh" for as long as his breath will last. He is very ticklish and laughs when you kiss his stomach or his neck. He laughs when Joshua is playing with him or trying to kiss him. Just like Joshua, he loves to play peek a boo in the mirror. He loves looking at his reflection, but not as much as Joshua. :) We used to give him a bath on our bathroom counter but he splashes so much that this week we put his little tub in the garden tub and give him a bath in there. He drinks about 5 oz every 3 hours and I just switched him to a fast nipple. He also just started getting rice cereal twice a day today. I only started the rice cereal about a week ago. With Joshua, I started at 4 months.
Joshua got a Tball set this weekend and has already mastered how to hit the ball with the bat. I do think he is going to be a pretty good athlete since his coordination and motor skills surpass most in his age group. When we are in town on the weekend, Steve usually takes Joshua to the library and the bounce house which he loves. On July 4, we both had the day off and we all went to the splash pad and he loved all the fountains and the slide. We also got to watch some fireworks that our neighbors were doing and Joshua got to hold a sparkler for the first time. He was mesmerized by all the different colors that were shooting out of it.

Sunil is married!
So much has happened since our last post! Wedding bells were ringing in Hawaii on Fri., June 1st for my brother, Sunil, and our new sister, Julie. It was a beautiful wedding in a chapel off of Waikiki Beach with 38 of our close family and friends. Subin, Steve, Jackie (Julie's sister) and I were all in the wedding party. Julie wore a beautiful strapless gown and Jackie and I had on purple and gold saris. The service started at 5 and the reception started at 7 at the Westin Hotel. The cocktail hour was set off two separate balconies that overlooked the beach. The reception was a small intimate room that held 4 round tables. Sunil's friend Reji emceed with the program consisting of mostly speeches. Steve said the prayer, while the rest of us had a short speech. The reception lasted till midnight and some stayed out later while some (me and my reluctant husband) went back to the hotel.
We had such a great time in beautiful Hawaii. The weather was absolutely perfect, meaning 70s to low 80s the whole time with 1-2 sporadic showers. We loved eating at restaurants overlooking the beach and just watching the view. Our hotel, the Trump, was modern and spacious with a kitchenette and a huge bathroom. Subin, who stayed at the Trump, was upgraded to a room bigger than my apartment in Dallas.
Thursday night we had rehearsal dinner and Friday I managed to get my hair done and eat at a huge buffet before we had to do wedding prep. Saturday we went to the Honolulu Zoo ( which was amazing) and then went to a beautiful luau in the evening. Sunday we trekked up Diamond Head Mountain ( my calves hurt for a week) and then relaxed on the beach and the infinity pool the rest of the day. We ended the day with great sushi before we went to bed for 4 hours only to report down at the lobby for our 3:30 am ride to the airport :(
While we had a blast in Hawaii, we missed our precious boys the whole time. I really don't know what Steve and I used to talk about before the kids. We both concluded that we will not be able to take another trip without them for a long long time. We called them twice a day everyday and made sure Joshua knew we were coming back soon. He didn't seem like he was missing us too much with all the fun he was having at Granny and Grandpa's house :)
Congrats to Sunil and Julie!! Sorry, but I wasn't able to take too many pics on wedding day. Hopefully, we'll get professional pics soon.

Noah is 4 months old!
Noah turned 4 months on Tue. and is so much fun to be around. He laughs and smiles all the time and also makes high pitched screaming noises to get attention. He is still sleeping in his bassinett beside our bed which is now way too small for him. The pack and play, however, is too big for him and he didn't sleep well the one night we tried him in it.
For now, I will post some pics but will return to finish this blog tomorrow.

Back to the grind
I returned to work this past week after spending 3 glorious months on maternity leave with my boys. It was quite an adjustment getting used to waking up at 6 am and getting the boys ready by 7:30. I am very thankful for Mom and Dad who pick them up in the morning so I can get to work around 8:10. Steve started his new job at Charfen 2 weeks ago and because its 45 min away he's usually out the door by 7. Its funny how I know exactly what time I need to do each task in the morning to get everything done by 7:30. I didn't cry all week though I cried the Sunday before all day. I carry around a pic of Noah since everyone I run across asks for it.
Steve and I have decided that dinner will be easy meals that I can cook ahead of time with lots of leftovers. By the time we get home its 5:45 and I start dinner for Joshua by 6:30. Our goal is to get Joshua into bed by 8:15 since he has to wake up by 7. He still cries periodically at night but we haven't got him from the crib in a couple of weeks. Noah occassionally needs a pacifier once to twice a night but that's easy since he still sleeps in the bassinett beside our bed. I have definitely been spoiled by not having to physically get out of the bed.
We went to early church at 9:15 and we went to the mall around 2:30 and then went to small group at 4:30. So we had a pretty productive day for a Sunday. I am going to look forward to relaxing weekends where we do absolutely nothing.
On Fri. Apr. 13 we all went to the opening game of the Round Rock Express. Joshua loved the baseball game and he would have stayed out there way past his bedtime if he could have but we ended up leaving around 8:45. The next day Steve took him to the Cedar Park Heritage Festival.

Easter weekend!
Joshua and Noah had a great Easter weekend complete with an Easter egg hunt and petting zoo on Saturday and of course, church on Sunday. Joshua had a blast at the egg hunt since he had gone to one on Friday that was organized by some girls at our church. We had also practiced in the living room at home :) So by Saturday he was an expert!

Noah is getting bigger!
I can't believe how time is just flying by! We had Noah's 2 month appt on Mar. 28 and he weighed 11 lbs 11 oz (25-50%) with his height at 22 1/4 in. (10%). He did so well at his appt with just a tiny cry after his 2 shots. He didn't even need his pacifier!
Noah has been such an easy baby and we are so blessed to have him and Joshua in our lives. Noah has been sleeping through the night since he was 7 weeks old and with the exception of a few nights he sleeps in his bassinet without a peep. Joshua has also stayed in his crib for the past 2 weeks since we are letting him cry. He cries maybe once a night for about 10 minutes. Its amazing that we are actually getting sleep. Who would have thought?
Noah's reflux is under control and he doesn't have gas or spit up which is great since we dealt with Joshua's for 9 months. Noah loves to smile and talk by saying "Oh" and he loves music like Joshua.
He is happy as long as you face him outwards so he can watch the world go by. He loves when you play with him and wave all his little rattles and musical instruments.
